Hunting and Fishing Club Newsletter - August 2007

This seasons dates are as follows:

Dove September 1st
Teal, Early September 8th - 16th
Goose, Early September 29th - October 7th
Split Duck, 1st October 6th - 22nd
Split Duck, 2nd November 10th - January 27
Goose, Regular November 10th - January 27

We will not trap shoot nor sight in rifles anymore this season so that we do not disturb the hunting.  We will not hunt anything after 12 p.m. (noon) until the late goose season.  Please see the updated rules below.

We are very excited about the waterfowl season as it looks like we will have a full lake to start and we will hunt out of permanent blinds and foot well blinds back against the banks where it is easier to disguise them.  This should be our best season ever.  We also have room for blind 3 ½ which sits in front of the willows by the east parking, by the big cottonwood tree.

We will dress ducks for $3.00 and if you agree to have all of your geese dressed by us for the season we will only charge $5.00 per goose.  A limit of four would only be $20.00.  We want to promote the full carcass cooking as a conservation method and it is the only legal way.  If you have an occasional goose dressed by us the charge will be $8.00.

All birds will be dressed in hot water and wax and they are nearly oven ready.  Trina will start dressing geese at 5 pm daily or before.  You can wait for your dressed geese or have them frozen by us and picked up the next time you are up.  I will get out another letter before the goose season.

There will only be three club blinds this year where the decoys are furnished.  They will be #1, #3, and #7.  The water will be too deep for #8, but we will have a few decoys out at #8, #9, and #10 until freeze up.  Blinds #2, #4, #5, and #6 will be foot well blinds and you put out your own decoys there.

We will not have a special youth day hunt as the dates fall during regular season in our area.

If you would like to add a photo to one of the areas (Trap Shoot, Youth Day, Summer Recreation) or to the Photo Album please contact us to find out how. You may also print off the release form, sign it, and send a copy to us with the photo.  Please Note: a release must be signed for all individuals in a photo and the photo will become the property of Highland Acres Hunting and Fishing Club.  If you would like the photo returned to you after scanning please include a self addressed stamped envelope with the photo and release.
