Hunting and Fishing Club Newsletter - October 2009

To Hunting Club Members:

The next season starts November 7th for duck only until noon.  Starting November 21st we will hunt duck and goose all day.

The early teal season was very poor because the teal were not in yet.  The youth hunt was a bust because we did not have a single hunter take advantage of it.  We hope next year will be better.

We have the best water level ever and the first duck season was excellent.  Trina and I had our best duck hunting ever.  We went often and although we did not get ducks every day we did get nine one day and eight another day.  Trina shot her first wood duck, a beautiful drake.  The days we were the only ones hunting were our worst days because there was not anyone helping push them around.

We will have a work day starting at 12 noon on November 7th the 1st day of the 2nd duck season.

We will attempt to get all of the blinds decorated at this time.  Try to decorate the blinds you are hunting in first.

We are doing real well on guest fees with the new envelopes. Maybe we have finally found a system that works.

We are expecting an excellent goose season. Hopefully more people can go more times. We can not help you if you do not go.

If you make a blind reservation and then find out you can not go please call us by 5am as we can still use the blind for someone else.

The club room is working out great for those staying overnight. We hope more will take advantage of this.

Please contact us any time if you have any questions at 970-221-1362.

Sincerely,

Charles Whipple, Mgr.
