To All 2010 Members:
Trap shooting and pistol plinking is over for the year. We will permit the sighting in of rifles afternoons only, with permission.
Dove hunting starts Wednesday, September 1st. For opening day only we would like for you to call in at 6pm so if we have any special needs from hunters we can help them. After Wednesday just come and go as you please, except anyone entering the property must sign in at the gate and sign out when you leave even if you are not hunting. Dove hunting guests must pay a fee of $25.00 at sign in by the gate.
Early teal only season starts Saturday, September 11th. With early teal we will start call time for blind assignment at 6pm the night before. People with blind assignments do not need to sign in at gate and guest fees will need to be put in the box by steps to the lodge.
The lake has been drawn down to the conservation pool and the blinds will be set down by the water. Decoys will be at the blinds if you want to use them but they must be picked up after you are done using them. They cannot be left out at unattended blinds. Anyone going in late and without blind assignments must sign in at sign in box by the gate.
For dove and early teal we will only hunt until 12, noon each day. Full day hunting will only start with the goose season November 13th.
Trina has built 10 really nice full plywood blinds. They are 5 foot across the bottom and have doors on each end, big windows and a shelf for shells. They should be really warm. The ground will be soft by the blinds so do not get off the main road as you could get stuck.
You should have hip boots to put out decoys. You can use your own, add to or use the ones at the blind. If you need help, let us know at call time. We will assist anyway we can.
We look for a really good season this year as the crops are much further along than last year and should provide feed for the birds.
Season Dates:
Dove September 1st - October 31st
Teal September 11th - September 19th
Duck October 2nd - October 18th & November 6th - January 23rd
Goose October 2nd - October 11th & November 13th - February 2nd
We will have work days Saturday, September 4th and Sunday, September 5th to decorate the blinds for duck hunting. Call Trina if you can help. Trina can use help about anytime so call her at 221-1362 if you are available.
Please contact us any time if you have any questions at 970-221-1362.
Sincerely,
Charles Whipple, Mgr.
